While searching for a reputable veterinarian, please make sure you get references. In my experience, not all vets have their priorities straight or are up to date on all the new vaccinations. Here are just a few tips that you may find useful. First, make sure that the vet is as good as he/she says they are by investigating the references to the extent. You will find that some vets are in it for the money instead of what is best for your pet. They will tell you that this or that is needed, when it may not be needed at all.
Second, ask as many people as you need to about this vet. Stay away from vets that want to push procedures on you that your pet may not need. If you don't feel comfortable with a vet, there is probably a good reason...go with your gut instinct. I have found in my years of owning pets and raising puppies that an older veterinarian is the best. A vet that has been in business for quite a few years is usually the best choice, they have their priorities right and are out for the good of your pet (s). In short...Be careful when choose a vet and good luck in your search.

NEED HELP FINDING A NUTRITIONAL DIET FOR YOUR NEW PUPPY?
We highly recommend and use Purina Pro Plan Selects for puppies.
This is an excellent puppy food. This brand of puppy food can only be purchased thru PetSmart or Petco (or a similar pet supply company).
NEED HELP HOUSETRAINING / CRATE TRAINING?
TRY READING THESE SITES.
I use an
exercise pen (play pen) for house training. I find that the puppy doesn't stress
and house training goes just as fast with this method as it does with using a
crate. I also use a small ceramic bowl or small feeder and a 32 oz. water bottle
(the lick kind). This is a much cleaner method and no chance of running out of
food while no one is home. The exercise pen comes in a variety of heights and is
adjustable to a large variety of sizes...also it is for indoor / outdoor use,
folds down to a flat size which stores easily in a closet or under the bed. You
can purchase an exercise play pen at your local PetSmart or Petco pet supply
outlets. If you choose the traditional method of crate training, I recommend the
wire crates with the pull out pans. This allows the puppy to maintain a constant
temperature and for him / her to see what is going on around them.

NEED HELP WITH BATHING DECISIONS?
Here are a couple of items that I am currently using and highly
recommend.
Shampoos: (Double K)
Groomer's Edge Alpha White Shampoo.
(Double K ) Groomer's Edge
GrimeNator.
(Double K) Groomer's Edge Emerald
Black Shampoo.
(Double K) Groomer's Edge Hypo Plus
Shampoo.
# 1 Systems Professional Formula Whitening
Shampoo.
Flea Control Shampoos: Adam's Flea & Tick
Shampoo.
Conditioners: (Double K) Groomer's Edge Re-Fur-Bish
Conditioner.
These are the best shampoos that I have come across in a
long time that actually works as good as it says it is. These products can be
ordered at www.petedge.com
The link above is directly to the Double K Groomer's Edge products. I only recommend bathing a puppy / dog every 7-10 days. If you need to bathe earlier than that you can purchase a waterless shampoo spray from you local WalMart, PetSmart or Petco- that will work just as good as bathing, but won't dry out your pets skin.
